China Packing
Checklist
Pack for variety: China routes often combine airports, high-speed trains, old streets, big cities, scenic areas and hotel changes. Light, organised luggage makes the trip feel much easier.
Documents
Passport, visa or visa-free documents, flight and hotel confirmations, travel insurance, copies of key documents and any required permits.
Comfortable walking gear
Good walking shoes matter more than formal clothes. Many heritage sites and old towns involve steps, uneven paving or long courtyards.
Weather layers
Bring breathable layers for spring and autumn, sun protection for summer, and warmer layers for northern China, Tibet, Yunnan mountains or winter travel.
Daily essentials
Power bank, universal adapter, medication, basic toiletries, a small day bag and a refillable bottle are useful for long touring days.
Use this as a starting point.
